Ms. María Pazo is a predoctoral researcher at the University of Vigo (Spain). She holds a BSc in Energy Engineering and an MSc in Mining Engineering, both completed with distinction. In 2021, her master’s thesis received the Sustainable Innovation Award from the Telefónica–UVigo Chair. Her doctoral research focuses on decentralized machine learning approaches for sustainable mining, with applications in Bayesian modeling and water quality assessment. She has contributed to studies on anomaly detection in water quality data, acid mine drainage, and predictive Bayesian networks under uncertainty.
